Reuters notes that Turkish operator Avea, owned by Turk Telekom, has appointed three partners to build 3G mobile infrastructure. The company, which has more than 12 million subscribers, has struck a deal with Ericsson to build 3G base stations in Western Turkey and with China’s Huawei to build 3G infrastructure in the Mediterranean and Central Anatolian regions. It has also agreed a deal with China’s ZTE for East and Southeast Anatolia.
