Thai operator True Move is reported to have filed a criminal complaint against rival DTAC for having a foreign state enterprise as a major shareholder, in violation of the foreign business act. According to the Bangkok Post, a report published by the Telecommunications Committee of the House of Representatives in April 2011 indicates that DTAC is a foreign entity by law, since it only has 28.65 percent Thai ownership – the Foreign Business Act indicates that Thai investors must have at least 51 percent of the shares. Telenor, which is the major shareholder in DTAC, told the paper that it is in compliance with the necessary rules and regulations.
