Texas Instruments announced a 50 percent decrease in operating profit in its Wireless business in the second quarter of 2011, falling to US$82 million from US$165 million, on revenue which fell 23 percent to US$558 million from US$727 million. The company said the fall in sales was due to lower revenue from baseband products, as revenue from the combination of application processors and connectivity products grew.
