Silicon vendor Texas Instruments reported net income of US$666m in the first quarter of 2011, up 1 percent year-on-year, on revenue of US$3.39 billion, up 6 percent. In its wireless business, it said that an 8% decline in revenue to $658 million was attributable to lower revenue from baseband products, although revenue from connectivity products increased and revenue from applications processors was “about even.”
