Canadian telecoms operator Telus reported increased profit and revenues for the fourth quarter of 2011, driven by an increase in wireless revenues and demand for data. The company’s net income for the period was CAD237 million (US$237.2 million), up 4.9 percent on the same period in 2010, while operating revenue hit CAD2.7 billion, an increase of 5.3 percent. The company saw a 6.5 percent growth in wireless revenues, with a 43 percent increase in wireless data revenue, as it added 148,000 postpaid subscribers during the period.
