South Africa’s Mail & Guardian said that Telkom South Africa is set to sell its Nigerian CDMA operator Multi-Links to Helios Towers Nigeria, for a US$10 million. Telkom had previously struck a deal to sell Multi-Links to existing Nigerian operator Visafone for US$52 million, representing a loss on the business, but this deal was blocked due to an ongoing dispute between Telkom and Helios about an infrastructure lease contract.  It was noted that Telkom will fund Multi-Links until the deal is complete, with its board having previously voted to end funding of the unit.
