Telefonica Digital and Capita’s healthcare business have announced a global partnership that will deploy communications and telehealth technologies to improve the efficiency and delivery of healthcare.

The partnership will see services being launched in a variety of countries, with initial focus in Europe and Latin America.

The operator will commercialise the new solutions, building up a network of key partners and clients in each country to complement its existing local presence and business operations. The first implementation projects are currently taking place with clients in Brazil and Spain.

“The partnership is incredibly complementary and is a milestone in achieving our shared vision. The global demand for mobile telecare and tele-consultation will increase, so innovative and new ways of reaching patients – wherever the location – is vital. The transformation of self-care will enhance the security and independence of people inside and outside their homes,” said Andrew Lockwood, managing director of Capita’s Healthcare decisions business.

Capita offers Software as a Service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) products to healthcare providers.
