Just before Christmas Telecom Italia announced it will launch HSPA+ services in Spring this year. The operator plans to offer data cards incorporating Qualcomm chipsets in the first half of this year that support download speeds of up to 21Mb/s and theoretical peak uplink speeds of 5.7Mb/s. Downlink speeds will rise to 28Mb/s in the second half of 2009.
