T-Mobile UK has changed the “fair use” policy for its mobile data tariffs to place restrictions on the amount of multimedia data which can be downloaded by users, stating that “our mobile broadband and Internet on your phone service is best used for browsing… but not watching videos or downloading files.” A 500MB limit applies for these files to all users, including those subscribing to a data package with a 3GB inclusive allowance. Customers exceeding the limit will still be able to browse and view email, and the company’s Twitter customer support page also said it will “never charge” if users exceed the fair-use limits.
