Messaging products company Synchronica signed a letter of intent for a co-development and investment deal with technology incubator Intertainment Media. The plan is to combine Intertainment’s real-time Ortsbo.com language platform with Synchronica’s Mobile Gateway messaging platform, to provide translation capabilities for the latter. The companies plan to start a joint venture which will licence intellectual properties from both companies to boost R&D. Intertainment will also invest up to CAD10 million in Synchronica, subject to shareholder approval. It remains to be seen how this will impact device software company Myriad’s recent £20.6 million bid to acquire Synchronica.
