PTS, the Swedish telecoms regulator, announced an auction for 800MHz spectrum, which is expected to start on 28 February 2011 – interested parties have until the end of January to apply. The regulator is offering six bundles of 2x5MHz spectrum, stating that “at least three stakeholders” will be assigned licenses – meaning that no single company can win more than two of the packages. The licences are “technology and service-neutral (within certain restrictions).”
