Swiss chip-maker STMicroelectronics has posted a wider net loss for its second quarter as revenue declined, but said its results reflect “solid progress across several key fronts” and sales were better than planned. The company posted a net loss of US$318 million compared with a loss of US$47 million in the same period a year earlier. Revenue fell 17 percent to US$1.99 billion from US$2.39 billion.
