A Hungarian state-owned consortium has won a licence to use spectrum that will allow it to enter the mobile market in the country, reports Dow Jones Newswires. The consortium, led by state-owned electricity wholesaler MVM Zrt, secured a block in the 900Mhz spectrum band, following an auction by the country’s telecoms regulator, the National Infocommunications Authority. The regulator said it expected competition to increase following the entry of a new participant.
