Associated Press reports that SoftBank, which runs the only Japanese mobile operator to offer the iPhone, said profit doubled in the latest quarter as its mobile business continued to expand. Total net profit at the group was JPY43.37 billion (US$481 million) during the July-September period, up from JPY21.75 billion a year earlier. Revenue was nearly unchanged at JPY682.9 billion versus JPY681.7 billion a year earlier.
