SingTel is raising its stake in Filipino operator Globe Telecom by 2.9 percent for US$104 million, according to Channel News Asia. The deal takes SingTel’s stake in Globe to 47.3 percent. SingTel has interests in several countries, including in India through Bharti Airtel and Australia, with its fully-owned Optus. The company derives two-thirds of its revenues from overseas operations and is keen to expand abroad.
