Samsung’s new CEO Kwon Oh-hyun will not oversee the company’s mobile business, as the consumer electronics giant looks to avoid the perception that its component and consumer product divisions – which operate independently from each other – share competitive information. Kwon previously oversaw the chip and liquid-crystal display units and replaces Choi Gee-sun who has been CEO since 2009 and remains vice-chairman. JK Shin will continue to oversee the IT & Mobile Communications Division.
