Russia’s government is considering investing in an Indian telecom firm to help out the majority Russian owner, notes an Economic Times report. Russia has reportedly set aside RUB23.7 billion (US$689 million) “for acquiring shares in the joint venture Shyam Telelink,” now known as Sistema Shyam TeleServices, in its draft budget for 2009.
