Report: Zain Saudi Arabia CEO to step down

The CEO of operator Zain Saudi Arabia is to resign according to a report in Kuwaiti newspaper al-Rai. Saad al-Barrak is expected to step down at the operator’s board meeting today although his reasons weren’t declared by the newspaper’s sources. Kuwaiti operator Zain recently failed to sell its 25 percent stake in Zain Saudi Arabia to Bahrain Telecom and Kingdom Holding in a deal worth US$950 million. Zain Saudi Arabia is the third largest operator in the Kingdom in terms of connections.
