US operator Sprint Nextel is nearing an agreement with wholesale operator Clearwire to extend an existing network-sharing deal by three to five years, according to Bloomberg sources. The deal would allow Sprint to continue to use Clearwire’s network to provide services beyond 2012, when the current agreement expires. Meanwhile Clearwire’s former CEO Benjamin Wolff has resigned from the company’s board.
