TeleGeography, citing a report in Japan’s Nikkei daily, claims the country’s four main mobile operators – NTT DoCoMo, KDDI (au), Softbank Mobile and eMobile – plan to invest up to US$10 billion in LTE mobile services in the near future. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communication (MIC) stopped accepting applications for LTE licenses last week and will issue them to the winners in the summer.
