Bloomberg reported that PT Indosat, Indonesia’s second-biggest mobile phone operator, is “open for possible consolidation” in the telecoms sector, although it did not state if it is looking to buy, or be bought. The company, which is controlled by Qatar Telecom, is fighting with rival XL to hold on to second place in the market: the country also has a number of tier-two operators which may be open to a combination.
