Dow Jones Newswires reports that the Indian government is likely to defer the auction for 3G licenses to the next fiscal year starting April 1, 2010. The 3G auctions have been deferred thrice since first set for January 16, 2009, over issues such as an increase in the starting price of bandwidth and the number of slots to be sold. Mid-January, the government said that it planned to complete the auction in the current fiscal year to March 31.
