UAE-based operator group Etisalat is looking at the possibility of selling its mobile phone towers in Africa to raise up to US$600 million, reports Zawya Dow Jones. Sources said the group is planning to sell up to 5,000 towers in various countries, dealing with one country at a time in order to satisfy minority shareholders and regulators. The first tower sales will take place in Tanzania during the first quarter of 2012, according to the sources.
