Indian conglomerate Reliance ADA Group is targeting the US mobile industry with the launch of Jump Games USA, a publisher and developer of mobile video games that is a venture of media division Reliance Big Entertainment. In a statement, Reliance said Jump Games is “aggressively looking to acquire top mobile content licenses and brands for distribution on its mobile worldwide network.” To be headquartered in Chicago, the opening of a US subsidiary follows global license deals to create and distribute games for brands such as Manchester United Football Club and Virgin Comics.

Reuters notes that Reliance has so far focused its US efforts on movie content. In May, Reliance – controlled by billionaire Anil Ambani – signed deals with eight Hollywood production houses run by actors such as George Cloony, Tom Hanks and Brad Pitt and is reported to be expected to secure a deal with Steven Spielberg and David Geffen to set up a new studio that would split Spielberg and Geffen from Paramount Pictures. As well as Reliance Big Entertainment, Reliance ADA Group also counts Indian mobile operator Reliance Communications as one of its subsidiaries.
