Qualcomm Life, the chip vendor’s mobile health subsidiary, has announced the first customers in Scandinavia for its 2net Platform and Hub, which enable health providers to connect medical devices wirelessly with a cloud platform so that patient data can be more easily shared.

In Sweden, the US vendor is working with Infogosoft, a personal health record provider. Over in Denmark, E-mergency and Viewcare, both home healthcare providers, have been signed up.

However, these are not Qualcomm’s first customers in Europe for its health platform.  At the time of its launch in November 2012, the US vendor announced two customers, one in Italy and another in Spain. It has not added to these two since the end of last year. The platform launched in the US at the end of 2011.

Qualcomm Life in Europe is headed by Laurent Vandebrouck (pictured).

Qualcomm’s platform and hub are each individually CE certified as Class 1 Medical Devices in Europe, as well as being designed for compliance with EU and national regulations in respect to privacy and security of individual’s health records.
