Malaysia-based operator group Axiata reported a 3.1 percent rise in net profit in its latest quarter, helped by higher contributions from its home market and from Bangladesh. Net profit for the quarter ended 31 March rose to MYR565.6 million from MYR548.4 million a year earlier. Revenues were up 8.1 percent to MYR4.26 billion. Axiata owns mobile operators in Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Cambodia, and has stakes in operators in India, Singapore and Iran.
