Philippines operator Globe Telecom is set to call for the country’s telecoms watchdog to regulate the amount of spectrum available to rival PLDT when its anticipated merger with Digitel is completed. According to local publication Inquirer, while Globe has said it has “no question” about the deal itself, the resulting frequency combination would see PLDT with 45MHz of spectrum, compared with the 10MHz available for Globe.
