Orange and Google announced “a strategic partnership that will leverage Orange’s SMS platform to bring Google’s services to African customers.” The companies will extend the rollout of the Gmail SMS Chat service from Senegal, Uganda and Kenya to Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea Conakry and Niger in the coming months, with a trial also taking place in Egypt.
