Optus buys Australian 3G spectrum from Qualcomm

Australian mobile network operator Optus will double its radio spectrum in urban areas if plans to buy spectrum from Qualcomm’s local subsidiary are approved, notes Cellular News. The operator says that it has signed an agreement to acquire spectrum licences for 10MHz of paired spectrum in the 2100MHz band in Australia’s capital cities.
