Indian operator group Bharti Airtel, Vietnam’s Viettel and Monaco Telecom have all submitted bids to acquire Cameroon’s third mobile licence, reports Agence Ecofin. Sources said the government plans to accept the highest offer although the highest current bid is understood to be Bharti Airtel’s XAF15 billion (US$29.8 million), which is below the government's XAF20 billion minimum. Orange and MTN operate Cameroon’s other two mobile licences.
