LIVE FROM GSMA MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS 2012: Nokia’s 808 PureView device – unveiled on the opening day of the show – has been crowned the Best ‘In-Show’ Device at this year’s Congress. A panel of judges declared the Symbian-powered handset – featuring an astonishing 41 megapixel camera sensor – the winner in what was a close run contest focusing on handsets, devices and tablets launched this week (HTC’s new One range was also highly commended). Other devices that made the shortlist included Huawei’s Ascend D quad-core smartphone, Asus’ PadFone and Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1. Judges included analysts and journalists from IDC, CCS Insight, Nomura, Ovum, Mobile Choice Magazine, Canalys, PCMag, Rethink Wireless and CBS Interactive. Nokia has promised that similar technology powering the PureView camera will make its way to Windows Phone devices in future.
