Russian and CIS mobile operator MTS saw its revenues fall by 23 percent year-on-year to US$2.022 billion in Q2, due mainly to depreciation in the ruble, reports Telecompaper. OIBDA was down 29 percent from the year-ago period to US$954 million, and the OIBDA margin declined to 47.2 percent from 51.2 percent in the year-earlier period. Net income decreased by 15 percent year-on-year to US$563 million. MTS’s total subscriber base increased by 3 percent to 99.51 million, compared to 96.61 million in 1Q09.
