The Mozambican government should this week finish examining bids in the international public tender for the country’s third mobile operator, according to local press reports. Three bidders remain in the last stage of the tender: Movitel, a consortium led by the Vietnamese company Vietel; Angola’s Unitel; and Portugal Telecom. The incumbent operators are mCel and Vodacom.
