Russia ended May with 194.7 million mobile subscribers, up by 1.9 million from April, according to Advanced Communications & Media. Penetration rose to 134.1 percent, from 132.8 percent in April. There were 195 and 174 SIM cards in use per 100 inhabitants in Moscow and St. Petersburg, respectively, at the end of May, while subscribers in Ukraine slightly decreased to 55.1 million, down by 0.1 million since April. Penetration decreased by 0.1 percent to 119.5 percent at the end of May.
