An overwhelming proportion of participants in a Mobile Money Live poll agreed that operators should offer international roaming for NFC-based mobile payments. Over two thirds (69 percent) thought international travellers would be interested in using a service when they are in a foreign country.

A much smaller proportion of users (19 percent) opposed the notion of NFC roaming, preferring instead for operators to concentrate on their domestic markets. The remaining votes were split between those who see NFC roaming as a niche for business uses (six percent) and those viewing it as more suitable for services such as public transport (six percent).
