The executive behind the overhaul of Microsoft’s Windows technology to encompass smartphones, tablets and PCs has left the company. Steven Sinofsky was behind the hybrid approach used for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. In related news, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer told French newspaper Le Parisien that Microsoft’s Windows 8-powered Surface tablet had a modest start to sales due to limited availability.
