Russian number-two MegaFon reported a 20 percent increase in net income to hit a record RUB14.9 billion (US$475 million) for the third quarter of 2012. Revenue increased by just over 12 percent to RUB71.2 billion. CEO Ivan Tavrin said the company had grown mobile data revenue by 30 percent compared to the third quarter in 2011. The results come just before the operator embarks on a roadshow for its planned London IPO.
