LG Electronics said it has sold five million LTE smartphones globally, stating it sold one million during the month of July 2012 alone – roughly equivalent to one every 2.5 seconds. The South Korean company said it has “more than 10” LTE handsets available where services are supported, stating that it “saw strong acceptance by offering diverse LTE smartphones according to customer needs”. Last week the company announced a range of Voice-over-LTE supporting devices, offered by US operator MetroPCS and South Korean carrier LG Uplus.
