Indonesia’s communications minister said today Qatar Telecom cannot control more than 65 percent of Indosat, Indonesia’s second largest mobile operator, notes Reuters. The decision came as QTel was in the process of holding a tender offer for the rest of Indosat’s shares after increasing its control over the Indonesian company to 40.8 percent earlier this year in a US$1.35-billion deal.
