Indonesian number two operator Indosat has seen an 87 percent increase in net income in the first nine months of 2011 compared to the previous year, reports Dow Jones Newswires. The company hit net income of IDR992 billion (US$112 million), partly due to lower expenses according to Indosat chief executive Harry Sasongko. The Qtel-owned operator also reported a slight rise in revenue to IDR15.36 trillion (US$1.7 billion) and a 30 percent increase in customer base during the period.
