South Korean car and electronics giant Hyundai is launching its nascent mobile handset business in the UK, reports Mobile Today. The firm said it is aiming for a UK market share of between 3 percent and 5 percent within the next five years, and is currently seeking talks with UK operators, distributors and retailers regarding its handsets. Hyundai Mobile UK is based in Oxfordshire where it has recently agreed terms to use the warehousing and logistics facility of Advantage Cellular.

Hyundai Mobile was first launched in Europe last September and currently has eight devices available in the region. According to Mobile Today, the vendor is aiming to launch between 10 and 15 new handsets this year, with at least one Windows Mobile business handset release planned for the first half of this year. It is expected to unveil new devices at next month’s GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
