Hungary is to sell its last available 450MHz mobile license this year, and may also seek buyers for a fourth 900MHz license, an official at the country’s communications authority said on Tuesday. “We introduced the 450MHz range [to potential buyers] first and the tender could be concluded already this year,” National Media and Communications Authority (NMHH) vice-chairman Gabor Matrai told local media, reports Reuters. “We will sell the 900MHz range thereafter.” He noted that the government is expecting to raise HUF20 billion (US$90 million) from the sale. The NMHH has previously looked at the potential market impact of a new mobile operator entering the Hungarian market.
