Bloomberg notes that China’s Huawei has garnered a 10 percent market share in Europe and expects to gain more ground this year. Citing comments from Tim Watkins, Huawei’s VP for Western Europe, the report claims the vendor won US$3 billion in contracts out of the US$30 billion awarded in Europe last year. The report is published on the same day Cellular News notes that Huawei is supplying T-Mobile Austria with LTE base stations for use in the world’s first test of multi-user mobile broadband services using the next-generation technology. The project in Innsbruck is the largest European test network covering 60 radio cells and has been running since the beginning of July 2009.
