A device roadmap purported to include every smartphone that Taiwanese handset vendor HTC currently has in development has been leaked to the Internet. The information, which first emerged on the Chinese-based website diypda.com, hints at at least one new device based on Google’s Android platform plus several running Microsoft’s Windows Mobile. The Android phone is codenamed ‘Hero’ and closely resembles the HTC Dream – better known as the T-Mobile G1, the world’s first Android phone. However, unlike the G1, the new device does not feature a built-in keyboard, suggesting it will rely solely on a touchscreen keypad. Reports last week suggested HTC is planning to launch a follow-up to the G1 – dubbed the ‘G2’ – in the current quarter.

According to an analysis by Brighthand.com, other phones detailed in the leak include a possible successor to the HTC Touch Diamond known as the HTC Topaz, and three devices (codenamed ‘Rhodium,’ ‘Barium,’ and ‘Tungsten’) that are deemed successors to the HTC Touch Pro. At least five of the new devices are identified as running Windows Mobile, though in many cases the operating platform is not specified. It is predicted that some of these new devices could be launched at this year’s GSMA Mobile World Congress, which takes place next month in Barcelona.
