Continua Health Alliance, an industry organisation of healthcare and technology firms, has joined forces with the NFC Forum to expand use of the short-range wireless technology in the health industry. Among the areas of co-operation between the two organisations include an exchange of technical information to enable NFC specifications to be developed for personal healthcare devices. They will also work on streamlining vendor development and certification with the aim of speeding NFC-based products to market.
