Telenor announced yesterday that its IPO of Bangladesh operator Grameenphone has opened to the public and will close on 8 October. Grameenphone expects to raise approximately US$141 million through its issue and has already allocated shares of the amount of US$70.4 million through a pre-public offering (PPO) to local Bangladeshi institutional investors, which will be issued upon completion of the IPO. The Grameenphone IPO will be the largest public offering in the country’s history. The price of each of the 69.5 million shares has been set at approximately US$1.
