Cellular News notes that new Canadian operator Globalive Wireless has been officially granted its spectrum license from Industry Canada and has received the corresponding spectrum. Backed by Orascom, Globalive last year purchased CAD442 million (US$348 million) in spectrum and expects to launch its network to consumers in fourth-quarter 2009.
