Germany’s mobile spectrum auction gained momentum Monday with new bids on blocks in the 800 megahertz band, the most expensive and valuable spectrum, notes Dow Jones Newswires. After round 200, which concluded the 24th day of the auction, the sum of all bids stood at EUR3.53 billion, up from EUR3.25 billion last Wednesday. Bidders Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone Group, Royal KPN’s E-Plus and Telefonica’s O2 raised bids on three of the six available 10 MHz blocks in the 800 MHz band, but also blocks in the 2.0 GHz band became more expensive. Germany is selling spectrum in 800 MHz, 1.8 GHz, 2 GHz and 2.6 GHz bands.
