GPS terminal maker Garmin is considering axing its smartphone unit, stating that its existing nuvifone-branded devices have so far failed to meet the company’s expectations, Reuters reports. The company offers devices in partnership with Taiwanese contract manufacturer ASUS, and is set to decide its smartphone fate “within the next couple of quarters.”
