Three companies are bidding for France’s remaining 3G mobile frequencies, reports Dow Jones Newswires. France Telecom’s Orange, Vivendi’s SFR and Iliad’s Free Mobile have filed applications with the regulator. The auction of the two blocks of 5 MHz frequencies in the 2.1 GHz spectrum band comes after Internet operator Iliad in January was awarded France’s fourth 3G license.
